When the Work Is Quiet

admin

Hello Thoughtful People,

How have you been since our last post?

Have you had a moment to sit with any of the reflections from before, maybe even reread one that spoke to where you are now?

Sometimes the week moves so fast that we forget to check in with ourselves. So, before we go any further, take a breath. Ask yourself how your heart’s doing, not just your schedule.

If you’ve been feeling stretched, inspired, or somewhere in between, that’s okay. Growth doesn’t always feel graceful; it just means you’re still becoming.

Because somewhere in the quiet between becoming and doing, we’re reminded that purpose doesn’t always shout, it whispers.

Have you ever had a moment where you look at everything you’ve poured out, the ideas, the long nights, the whispered prayers, the work that no one claps for, and it just feels like… silence?

No message. No “we see you.”

Just the hum of the unseen, and that quiet question in your heart that asks, “Does this even matter?”

If you’ve ever felt that, you’re not alone.

This week’s post is for you.

There’s a strange kind of holiness in the quiet seasons.

They don’t glitter. They don’t trend. They test.

When I finished my first book, I thought purpose came with proof, proof in sales, reviews, and recognition. But instead, I found silence.

Nine books later, I’ve learned that sometimes the quiet is not punishment.

It’s preservation.

Because purpose doesn’t shout. It refines.

It waits to see if you’ll still write when no one’s reading.

If you’ll still build when no one’s watching.

If you’ll still believe when no one’s clapping.

There’s always an unseen eye, watching not for performance, but for faithfulness.

That eye doesn’t count followers. It counts consistency.

I’ve learned that success isn’t built in the noise; it’s built in the shadows.

In the days you create something beautiful and share it in silence.

In the moments you press “publish” or “post” and no one seems to notice.

That’s when the quiet becomes the classroom.

You learn patience there.

You learn humility there.

You learn that your “why” must be louder than your waiting.

Life gets full, demanding workdays, ongoing responsibilities, and new chapters unfolding all at once.

Sometimes, you can’t market like you want to. You can’t post like you planned.

But you can still show up. Even if your version of showing up today is one small act of intention, a few words written, a thought recorded, a page published quietly into the world.

That’s still faith in motion.

The world may scroll past now, but the right eyes will find you in due season.

People of value recognize value.

When they see something real, something built with integrity, not applause, they stop. They listen. They lean in.

But here’s the part we often forget:

You don’t build for applause.

You build for alignment.

You build so that when the door finally opens, you have something worth walking through with.

Because Proverbs says, “Do you see a man diligent in his work? He will stand before kings, not obscure men.”

The unseen eye is preparing for that moment. But it’s consistency that prepares you.

Silence is not the absence of progress.

It’s the space where progress learns how to breathe.

And one day, quietly, unexpectedly, the season will shift.

Someone of value will find your work.

They’ll trace your diligence through the archives, see the fingerprints of your persistence, and realize…

You didn’t need the noise. You built depth.

And that’s when purpose smiles.

A Few Thoughts to Reflect On

  • Have you mistaken silence for insignificance?
  • What if the quiet season is your training ground, not your tomb?
  • Could the delay be preparing you for an audience that truly fits your message?
  • What version of you is being refined in the waiting?
  • When recognition finally comes, will your roots be deep enough to hold the weight of it?

So when the work is quiet… keep showing up!

Until the next post…
xoxo, Stay thoughtful. 💜
