WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!
Happy 2025 to my wonderful TBS Family! I know it’s been a while since my last post, but I am so happy that we all made it into the new year. Congratulations to each and every one of you!
This year is packed with a lot of thoughts to share with you all thoughtful people and the sparking minds community. The goal again is to bring awareness about specific topics that are essential not only for our current generations but also for future generations to come and bridge the gap between them and our older generations. Also, what we are aware of exposes our knowledge to it, which empowers us, and whatever we are empowered with cannot hurt us. Remember the saying that knowledge is power? The reason why TBS is created to engage and encourage such a culture. It is time we raise awareness of promoting value and provoking our minds to expose us to topics that will empower us and make us better prepared for the surprise called the journey of life.
Every day is a new beginning, so you might be reading this and might not be proud of yourself for not getting into the routine of what you wrote down as a New Year resolution. First, my thought on this comes as a question: who brought this concept of New Year resolution? Do we all have to wait till it’s a new year to start committing ourselves to goals we want to achieve? My thought is that it is an avenue to procrastination, and trust me, coming from someone who has procrastinated on a lot of things.
Here is a quick story about my experience with this: It happened when I started this blog. Thoughts By Sparkles has been on the pipeline for almost 6 years. I was planning to do this, but one thing I told myself was I would do it in the new year. However, each new year will come, and since January of that year has passed, I will wait till the following year. That was how 6 years went by without attempting to start something, as I felt I did not meet my New Year resolution. It was then around the Summer of 2023, which is past the new year and, of course, the middle or almost second half of that year, that I decided to grab my laptop and start to write. Then, I decided to research an excellent and competent team to help me make this blog function to the level that it will fulfill its vision and purpose, which is to raise awareness that will bring knowledge, empowering not only our current generation but also our future generations, and bridging the gap between them and our older generation. This brand is a collective work by great and very gifted people behind the scenes, and honestly, I am blessed to have them on my team. They are passionate about what they do, and they also believe in the values I share with you all, which is all you need (a team that believes in you). I am forever grateful to them. Now, back to the point, as that got me a bit emotional!
I want you all to go into this year, making every day a fresh start and a new beginning. What this will do is to support you in giving yourself grace and being kind to yourself. Coming from someone so hard on herself, I got little or nothing done, as shared from my previous experience on starting Thoughts By Sparkles. This approach will make you easily face and accept your mistakes and learn from them to help you re-strategize your strategy for the next day, which is a fresh start and a new beginning. Remember, what is perfection? It is mastering the same thing over and over again, which is consistency. The most successful and well-known people in the world all learned a thing or two from their past failures and mistakes, which made them the icons that they are today. So, do not be carried away by the New Year resolution idea and decide to make every day a fresh start in whatever you want to venture into this year. It will keep reminding you to start that project, begin that course, certificate, program, write that book, etc., and not wait till the next new year to begin because you did not start in the current new year. For example, I did not initiate most of my most significant accomplishments at the beginning of the new year. Instead, they resulted from decisions to start immediately and often came about in unexpected and unplanned situations.
My Sparkling Minds community, give yourself grace this year and be kind to yourself. You can start by writing down your vision, making it plain on paper, phone, or tablet, and running with it. If you make mistakes or something unexpected happens, that is okay; learn from it and move on; that interruption might just be the thing that you need to make you successful in that planned venture. The most important thing is to write that vision down. Secondly, it’s crucial to surround yourself with the right people who not only support but also understand your vision. This is because when success comes, it’s important to celebrate it with those who truly comprehend your journey. Their understanding and celebration of your success will reinforce the importance of your vision and strengthen your support network. It might take time to find them, and that is okay; it is better to say late than sorry. As such, the longer you spend on finding such people, the easier it is for your vision to become a mission (reality). Using this blog as an example, I see that it took some time to assemble a dedicated team. However, once I identified the talented individuals who now work behind the scenes, we devoted nearly a year to developing our strategy. Throughout numerous meetings, I shared my vision for Thoughts By Sparkles with them. They comprehended it thoroughly and are now collaboratively working towards its realization alongside me. So, anytime anyone comments on my blog post, it goes to them, as they are also proud of what we have done so far.
I am very excited about what this year will bring as we all take one day at a time and treat it as a fresh start and new beginning, writing your vision down of what you want to achieve and then running towards it, making it a reality. Surrounding ourselves with the right person/people/team is crucial in this journey. Again, I cannot stress this enough: be gracious and kind to yourself this year if you truly want to get anything done and be okay facing and accepting your mistakes (read my blog post on Embrace Your Mess if you have not read it yet), as you can create a message out of that mess/error.
What should you expect this year from Thoughts By Sparkles? Well, TBS is planning to be more consistent (fingers crossed), as I have received emails about being consistent, and I appreciate the feedback. There would be topics that might be set as triggers, which is okay. What triggers you means there is something you need to pay attention to in processing that experience to heal, which is the antidote to that underlying problem. It is time for more value to be put into the internet space, which is the vision and goal for TBS. Let’s do it together, Sparkling Minds and Thoughtful People, as you help share this platform with your friends, families, colleagues, etc., to support our present and future generations. Your engagement is not just about the present, but it also paves the way for a brighter future. Let’s bridge the gap with our older generations and inspire the next ones.
Until the next post, xoxo…
Stay Thoughtful!x
Welcome back, Sparkles! I was wondering where you had gone for a while.
Happy New Year! I’m looking forward to more consistency in your posts and your insightful, thought-provoking content.
Your point about every day being a new beginning is absolutely true! We should start making changes as soon as we can rather than waiting for New Year’s resolutions.
I’m truly excited to see what your blog has in store for this year; it’s going to be a great year for you! By the way, have you considered starting a podcast? It would be fantastic! 👌🏽
