Hello, Thoughtful People!
I am here again with another thought-provoking topic, which brings me to my thoughts for today. It is a form of advice to all the ladies out there: Be economically stable! This is also for parents and men to advise our future generation of ladies as children, sisters, cousins, friends, etc.
What do I mean by ladies being economically stable? Most of our readers may already know what I mean. Our future generations must understand that having something to do will not only keep them busy to avoid an ideal mind but also give them access to make them economically stable.
When you become economically stable, you will not be subjected to abuse and taken for granted. For instance, there are a lot of women today who depend on their boyfriends, husbands, and others for funds because they do not have anything coming in. Trust me, I was once there. When I was staying at home with my two beautiful kids, I had no job and no savings. I was at the mercy of my children’s father, who was my husband at the time. See, what happened is it gave him control over my life because I depended on him for everything. It got to the point that I became an irritant to him because it was like I was a liability.
I know there are women out there who have experienced the same thing. Also, it is only a problem when a woman decides to work or open a business so she can be economically stable, but her husband wants her to be a full-time housewife. This is a discussion for another day. Another problem is if a woman wants to refrain from adding value, this is a potential issue, because eventually what will happen is her husband will become tired, which can cause a rift in their marriage.
Women and our future generation ladies, just from experience and research, try to get something to do, develop a skill (tailoring, hairdressing, something of service), or if you have a school certificate/degree, make good use of it. I know that applying for a job is a full-time job in itself, but keep pushing until something happens. I was looking for a job for one full year in 2022 until I finally found a job. Did I have some overwhelming days? Many! However, it just built me into the person I am becoming. Suppose you do not have a school certificate/degree and you do not want to go back to school; in that case, it is still okay to find something you are good at that comes naturally to you. Turn it into a business by rendering services/value to others, where something comes in and helps you become financially stable.

The former CEO of PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi, shared this story in several conferences she was called to speak that her father said the best dowry and investment he could give to her and her sisters was to pay their tuition fees to gain education because he wanted them to be economically stable, and do not want them to depend on anyone for money. Now, see what she has become today and she talks about it every time she gives a speech to raise this awareness to all women.
It shows that this is a vital topic for our future generations to take note of, especially our young girls. Allow yourself to grow, discover yourself, find what you are good at, and turn it into something that brings you cash flow. If you have the opportunity to go to school, do it, get that degree, or develop a skill and be good at it, you can use it to make yourself economically stable.
Most importantly, being economically stable will make you valuable and build respect for yourself. If you want to learn more about creating value for yourself, you can read my blog posts on Value and Value In Relationships. It will help you identify how to create value and self-worth in yourself and your relationships.
A question to ponder about, we pray for such events not to happen, but what will you as a woman do if your husband loses his job, becomes sick, in worse situations pass away, or the marriage dissolves, if you are not economically stable?
So, my thoughtful people, let’s help our future generations start paving the way to their economic stability. Please share your thoughts on this, or if you want to share a related experience, feel free to drop them in the comment session. Let us have an open discussion to help women and our future generations learn and support each other in further achieving economic stability.
